Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Makenzie Mullins, or just "Kenzie". I will be graduating in the year 2018 from Maclay High School in Tallahassee, FL.
I have played softball since I was very young. I played rec ball starting when I was as young as 5 years old and joined my first travel team when I was 9. I began pitching at age 11, and have been playing rec ball, travel ball, and school ball since then, usually as the starting pitcher.
My teammates have often looked to me as a leader on the field; I was captain during my eighth-grade year, and I plan to be captain again in high school. I think I have the qualities of a good leader, but I'm also very willing to be coached, and I'm on the field to learn from my coaches and teammates.
I think what really sets me apart from other recruits is my dedication to the sport I love. Everyone thinks they want to play at a college level; what makes me different from them is that I truly mean it. I want nothing more than to play softball for as long as I possibly can. I consider myself to be a well-rounded individual who works hard on and off the field. I always give more than 100% percent into everything I do, and I don't let the standards keep me boxed in. I can safely say that I want to work harder than anybody else and if given the opportunity, I would love to exhibit that dedication to you, as my coach. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope to hear from some of you soon!
