McCade Cooper '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is McCade Cooper. I'm a Junior at Silverdale Baptist Academy in Chattanooga, TN. I've played softball for 13yrs since I was 5yrs old. I was a pitcher for 8yrs but now I play 1B and 2B and concentrate on hitting. I was the starting game-winning pitcher for my middle school team in the ISC Championship game in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade where we won 3 consecutive MS conference championships. I made the HS team as an 8th grader in the Spring of 2018. I was a starter all season and when I wasn't pitching I played 3B, SS, 2B, 1B and OF. I finished the 2018 HS season with the #2 BA at .469 and #2 OBP at .584 behind only our Senior and current Lady Vol, Kaili Phillips. I was the starting pitcher in only 7 HS games in 2018, but I was 7-0 as a starting pitcher. Our Silverdale Seahawks HS team won the TSSAA State Title in Murfreesboro, TN. I was the starting 2B until the 2 Championship Games where I was moved to 3B when our SS was ejected. For 2 HS seasons as an 8th grader and 9th grade starter, I have 60 hits in 148 at bats for a .405BA and .511OBP.

In the summer I play select/travel softball for Frost Falcons '03 16U.  We play against some of the best select softball teams in the nation. I was 3-0 and undefeated as a starting pitcher this summer (2019) as a first year 16U team with wins in the Scenic City Showcase, Birmingham Bolts 5 Star Showcase and the Eastern Elite Showcase. I played MS, HS and Club Volleyball for 5yrs but am concentrating on softball only in my last 3yrs of high school. I did serve 25 straight in one game in 7th grade. I have straight As in HS in every subject but Math. Math is my weakness, but I do have a B. I love to win and I love to cheer for my teammates. I'm a team player and very coachable. I want to play college softball as a hitter and a pitcher, if possible. I've been in pitching lessons every week for more than 7yrs. I have 6 pitches: fast, change, curve, screw, rise and drop.
