Personal Statement
I have been playing softball since T-ball when I was 5 years old in Southern California. I began pitching when I was 7 years old for a competitive team and also began working with a pitching coach. I enjoy pitching because there is always something new to learn and it requires a lot of mental toughness. I believe that pitching is a sport in itself because of all of the different aspects and responsibilities when your on the mound. My hard work and determination can not only be seen on the field but also in the classroom. I have always preferred taking classes that challenge me and keep me on my toes. My sophomore year I decided to add another sport when a friend suggested I try out. I was very busy playing Varsity softball and club softball, JV volleyball and club volleyball and Varsity basketball. All these sports really helped me gain strength for pitching. Off the field my favorite thing to do is volunteer at Camp Tamarack. I am a camp counselor for kids at an outdoor camp near Sisters OR. I think one thing my coaches would say about me is that I am a natural leader and I handle pressure well. I cannot wait to continue my softball career in college where I want to study Biology / Premed. Thank you so much for taking the time to view my profile.
