Delaney Medlyn '25 Recruiting Profile

 Hello, my name is Delaney Medlyn, I am 16 years old and a Junior at Cary grove High School. I have played golf since about age 4, competitively at 7 and really would love to make a career out of it. I am interested Teaching and Golf Instruction, currently I assist at the terra Cotta golf academy giving lessons to the younger kids and I absolutely love it. I would love a career where golf and business go hand in hand. 

    My parents and family motivate me to do my best and work hard each and every day. I put a lot of effort into my golf game, and I challenge myself to get better and continue to improve. I am a very hard worker and I put my best into everything I do. 

   A few of my achievements this year was winning a Hurricane JGT event as well as finishing top 5 in a few other tournaments including the MAJGT and a top 3 in a prep tour event. My school season this year was amazing, my team won 4/5 invitationals and took 2nd in the one we didn't win, I also had the honor of winning medalist in 4 of those events. We won a conference championship and a regional championship. I finished the year 1st team all-conference and first team all area as well as being my team MVP for the 3rd straight year. We grew so close as a team and basically became a family, we could count on each other both on and off the course and I hope to find a college team that can equal this type of closeness. My low round for the year was a 73 and a 34, and I am learning to score more often and the value of making par and taking the birdies when they come. 

    I am a very open person and love to become friends with everyone. I am very social and work well with others, I have also been told by my coaches that I am a very coachable person and am always striving to improve. I love what I am doing and I’m looking forward to the next year of High School and then on to my Collegiate career. Thank you for viewing my profile.
