After winning the Georgia State Championship A-AAAAA, I have never seen more excitement and happiness on a team. We all seemed so close and had a great sense of accomplishment knowing that we had reached our goal after working for a whole year. Everyday day in the off season was lifting weights, running, and doing wall ball trying to get to that point. I felt so rewarded for the hard work and sweat we had put into season and preparing for that final game. We were together at our lows losing the first scrimmage of the year to last years reigning AAAAAA champions, but after that everyone knew it was time to get serious and put 110% effort into all of our sprints, drills, and stick work routines. I learned the value of commitment, hard work, and the importance of working together to face any opponent. It makes me want to get stronger, faster, have better and quicker stick skills everyday; so that is what I have dedicated my time to. Not only did winning something like a state trophy make me a better athlete it made me a better student, it makes me want to get a higher GPA and prepare even more for the SAT/ACT. I am looking to play at the next level because I can not get enough of the game and want to growing and becoming a better player and teammate each and everyday.
