Personal Statement
At first I may seem timid, but there is no doubt that I am a ball of energy when I am around family, friends, and teammates. On and off the field, I am very dedicated to my goals. I like to analyze how close I am to meeting them, and try to figure out the quickest and most efficient ways to achieve them. When I am not on the field, I focus on my academics. I intend on pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy. Academics are important to me, because I know that the knowledge that can be attained will help with my life goal: helping others be healthy physically and mentally. Just like on the field, off the field, I really enjoy helping others, and being able to give them advice on how to help solve their issues. Being an athlete, I am very interested in fitness, because I believe that physical fitness is intertwined with mental fitness, and pursuing physical therapy allows me to be involved with things that I genuinely enjoy. I believe I am a great candidate for a collegiate level team, because I am a great team player, and I have the maturity level and determination to succeed as a student-athlete.
I love being able to help people on and off the field, and I take pride in my teammates looking to me for guidance. For three years I have served as captain at the club level, and I still serve in a leader-type roll on the u17 team. Something that differentiates me from other players, is my ability to adjust to how my teammates are playing, in order to make the overall connectivity of our team work smoothly. Often times good players think they need to be selfish in order to gain attention, I feel that the mark of a great player, is knowing that the success of the team is also their own. On the field I am very demanding of my team, competitive. Playing center back you see the whole field, and you have to take advantage of that in order to help guide your team in the right direction. A key piece of my character is my ability to constructively criticize a teammate, while still encouraging them to play to the best of their ability. I am very much a team player and I value the people around me immensely.
