Personal Statement
Each day when my feet slide into the cool waters of the pool. I am once again renewed. I find my calm and my purpose. I find my drive to push harder each day, discover the new level at which my body can perform. Swimming has taught me that you are capable of more than you think. It has taught me that hard work compounds upon its self and big goals can be achieved through hard work and continuous focus on the horizons. Yes there are days that I am not hitting my best times and there are meets that I feel as though I could have improved or changed my strategy. But you always go back to your best time, your failures and miss steps are just a learning experience. You are no defined and weighed down by the things that don’t go your way, but uplifted by the opportunities that lay ahead.
Swimming demands you to keep working on yourself, it says what can we work on next. You are never perfect, we all have faults we all are a work in progress and I find comfort in that idea. When we stop working toward improving ourselves, our family our world we lose our purpose.
I want to take my team to the next level. Whether it’s through more purposeful practices, and deeper sense of teamwork, or a belief that we can achieve more when we believe we can. Each day is a new day to step up on the the blocks, exploded into the unknown and break down the barriers that stand between myself and greatness. When we all believe that, we can create our own destiny.
