My name is Keian Lam and I am a rising junior at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois. I have been swimming for a majority of my life, since I was 7 years old for the Fox Valley Swim Team. I've always enjoyed the sport but decided to devote myself completely when I was about 13 years old. I am not only one of the hardest working athletes both on my team and in the state, but I am also very coachable and consistent with my training. I always embrace and enjoy the challenge of a difficult set, knowing that I am improving myself. This commitment was reflected during my 14 year old 2021 Illinois Age Group State Meet, where I won 4 individual events (100, 200 breaststroke, 200 IM, 200 fly) and also helped contribute to a relay win for my team. Despite my athletic dedication, academics are also extremely important to me, as shown through my GPA and AP test scores. I would love to swim at a college where I could offer both my athletic ability and my academic strength.
