Sofia Torres '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Sofia Torres. I am from Cumberland, Rhode Island, and will be graduating in 2025. I play right outside back and forward for Surf RI. For my home team at Cumberland High School, my position is mainly right outside back.  I am open to playing any position when needed, as have played in my years of soccer. I am a strong and competitive player. I train myself to play to my best ability. I started playing soccer when I was seven. I  was able to play on club and premier teams since the beginning.  I always knew I wanted to pursue soccer to the next level. Playing on my current club team has made me into the player I am today. College soccer is a dream, it's ultimately what I see in my future. 

I have a strong right dominate foot, but can also use my left, strong physical defense, and mental toughness. I am a team leader and try to lead by example, while also encouraging my teammates. I try my very hardest and putting in the work at practice. Like all of my coaches say, "practice like you play." I strive to train my hardest off and on session.

In the classroom, I study hard and put in my main to maintain my GPA.  I also volunteer in clubs, like helping hands after school, help my friends with classes or needing study on a subject they aren't understanding. In 2022, I received Clipper of the month - Someone who is Respectful , Responsible , and Ready to learn. 

My dream career field is in Sports Medicine, and I am a student that can achieve this job. I am very close with my friends and family. We love traveling together during soccer tournaments  and vacations. We love spending time with each other.
