My name is Juliana (Jules) Garcia and I was born in Tucson, Arizona but have lived in Harlingen, Texas since 2009. I would describe myself as disciplined, goal oriented, team player, funny and caring. I remember walking in the Mall with my parents and telling my parents I wanted to play indoor soccer. What started as something fun, has turned into my passion. I realize that it takes practice, dedication and determination to succeed. I also believe that communication is essential on and off the field with my teammates, coaches and parents.
I currently play forward and attacking mid for Classic Elite and Harlingen High School. I believe that having good composure and vision for the game has contributed greatly to my success as a forward. I also have the speed, technical skills and confidence in myself and my team. As a forward, I am not just there to score, I am also there to help in defense or make plays if others are open to score. I played 4 preseason games with my varsity team at the Harlingen High. In those 4 games I scored 6 goals and had 2 assists. I became ill mid December and was in and out of the doctor's offices. I was hospitalized for three weeks and finally returned to school and soccer early February. During the stay at the hospital I was able to do my school work and maintain my GPA, but I was not able to do much physical activity. I was eager to return to the field, so I trained hard and was able to play a few minutes at out District game and scored 1 goal. After, school soccer, I continued to train with my club team and personal trainer to get me strong again.
Although I love soccer, I believe that my education is very important. My parents have always told me that my education is something that no one can ever take away from me. I study hard and set goals in my academic as well. In middle school I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and have been Top 12 of my class in 7th and 8th grade. I have been blessed to be chosen as Captain for Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball by my coaches and teammates. My goal after high school is to attend college and play college soccer. At this time I am open to all Colleges, until I find the best fit for me academically and athletically. When the time comes, I will sit down with all those that have helped me along the way and make a decision.
