Personal Statement
I started swimming at the age of six. Since then I have always loved the water. Swimming created an “escape” from the everyday stress of life. As I tried many sports, I never left the sport of swimming. The year going into seventh grade, 2011, I tried triathlons. I learned so much about how to be a true athlete. I was taught seven pillars: integrity, respect, humility, accountability, sportsmanship, safety, and goal setting. I realized these pillars not only work in the sport but should also be used in everyday life. I continued triathlons for three more years(until 2014). Although I loved triathlons I decided I wanted to focus on swimming. This year, 2015, I started swimming more than I have in my whole life. I noticed how much I love swimming and how much I want to get better and better. My goal would be to get an Olympic trials cut.
I have always been determined to break barriers and push past my limits in the pool. I love to work hard and I would love to continue to swim at a collegiate level. I try to be as positive as I can throughout practices and during races. I strive to be the best person I can be in and out of the pool. I aspire to be someone people can look up to.
I want to find a college where I can meet my goals in the classroom and in the pool. I am open to all options. I would like to find a college where I can build great relationships with my peers, teammates and coaches, and find a place I can call my home.
I have been accepted onto the Scholastic All American 2014-2015 Team.
