Baseball has been my #1 passion for as long as I can remember. Ever since I began playing baseball, I have been told that baseball is a great place to learn "life lessons." That has become more and more true for me every year I play the game. I've learned that hard work doesn't always guarantee the results I want, but that hard work almost always makes me at least 1% better than I was yesterday. I have to be willing to grind "even if" the result isn't always the result I want. I've also learned that leadership isn't a right, it's a privilege. The best leaders I've played with don't lead with words, they lead by example. I try to follow that example. Most importantly, baseball has taught me how to handle adversity, to expect adversity rather than to avoid it. I work hard to remember that the only pitch that counts, whether I'm batting or I'm fielding, is the next pitch. My goal is to play the game for as long as I can. And hopefully when my playing days are over, I'll find another way to stay in the game and keep learning the lessons it has to teach.
