Swimming has helped me develop as an individual. The sport has taught me how to work hard while balancing academics and extracurriculars. I currently swim for Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club, as well as attend Mount Rainier High School, where I carry a 3.9 GPA and a full International Baccalaureate course load. I carry the same drive for academics as I do for swimming, making motivation one of my biggest qualities. I have received second team NPSL all league recognition for the 2022 and 2023 high school seasons, named Academic State Champions (MRHS team) in the 2022 season, as well as qualified for state the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons. I have been swimming since the age of five, meaning the sport has played a big role in shaping me, creating a safe space. Having this safe space while continuing my future career will help continue the drive that I have, and encourage my eagerness to improve. Swimming in college would give me the opportunity to continue to strive to be the best that I can be, while growing into my adult life.
