Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Alysa Danielle Vinson and I am 17 years old. I was born in Torrance, California on July 6, 2000. I started playing volleyball at the age of 10 for the YMCA. I initially started playing because I was inspired by the movie "All You've Got". I saw a girl hit another girl in the face and said "Mom I want to play volleyball". Ever since then I have fallen in love with the game.
I have been playing volleyball for 5 years all together and 4 years of club at Capital City Juniors. I see this sport as a way to make friends that become family and a stress reliever. So playing volleyball on the collegiate level would be a dream come true. I have a passion for the game and you can tell when you see me play. I leave everything on the court so win or lose I am satisfied with how I played. I practice just as hard as I play in the game for the best results.
I attend Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School and I am in the 12th grade. I take my academics very seriously. I have a 4.2 GPA and I have been inducted into the National Honors Society. I have volunteered at an Easter Egg Hunt in sturbridge and I also coach YMCA volleyball for ages 6-10. I love to see the little girls grow into great girls with amazing attitudes.
