Personal Statement
I have committed to play Pac-12 Beach Volleyball at ASU and attend Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University.
My Senior year as Captain at Redwood High School in indoor volleyball, I was named All State in California and MCAL, Marin County Athletic League, Player of the Year.
I am an explosive 6' 0'' Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter/Right Side from Larkspur, California with a 30" vertical and 10' approach jump. I had the second highest hitting percentage of any high school player in California at .522 according to MaxPreps. Currently in my Junior year, I started as a MB on the varsity volleyball team at Redwood High School which finished Top 8 in the State for the second year in a row. I have been spending extra time in the gym to improve my defense and serve receive and have been playing outside and right side in matches. It is a goal of mine to become a six rotation middle, outside, or right side. Last year I started on the Absolute Volleyball Club 16-1s Black team which medaled at Junior Nationals. This year, I am on Absolute's 17-1s Black team which has been ranked 8th in the Nation and received an Open bid to Junior Nationals. I have attended the USAV High Performance Beach A2 team camp at the Olympic Training Center, won a silver medal at the USAV Beach High Performance Championships, and attended the AVCA Phenom College Preparatory Indoor Program. I was invited to the USAV High Performance A2 Indoor team program and at 21.2 seconds, had one of the fastest times in the country on the star agility test at the HP Beach tryout. This year as a Junior I was named All League 1st Team. I have a 3.94 GPA and scored a 30 on the ACT. For me athletics are my life and I have played/play, almost every sport imaginable. In track my Freshman and Sophomore year, I won the high jump in the Marin County Athletic League. Volleyball is not only something that I love, but something I live and thrive on. Something about it drives me and sets it apart from other sports.
I am looking for a college where I can find the right balance between the classroom and volleyball. Although sports mean a lot to me, so do academics and I make them a priority. I would like to attend a college or university with an excellent academic reputation. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate contribution to the team. I am very good under pressure. Having all eyes on me motivates me. I am a clutch player and often make late points to win tough sets. I have a positive attitude and am extremely coachable. I am driven to be the best at everything I do and work as hard as it takes to achieve greatness. I will not settle for anything less.
