Personal Statement
Volleyball is my passion and am eager to play at the collegiate level. I started playing competitive volleyball at the age of 11, and at age 12 was selected to play on a highly competitive travel team and have been playing at Rage Volleyball in Ripon, California since.
I enjoy playing as a Libero/DS on the court because it gives me the opportunity to utilize my leadership skills and lead my team to success. In the 2013 club season, my team, Rage Volleyball 15-1’s, earned an Open bid to Junior Nationals in Dallas and placed 14th in the nation. This past club season, my team, Rage Volleyball 16-1’s, earned an American bid to Junior Nationals in Minnesota and placed 1st. I have started on my high school varsity team for the past two seasons and helped lead my team both seasons to two league championships as well as two section titles, where I earned Player of the Match in this past section final. I consider myself as a resilient and very coachable player and each year I have been striving to improve my game, along with taking on additional training opportunities. This upcoming season I am excited to continually better my skills weekly with players on my club team who will continue their careers at Division I universities.
As I move into my junior year at Vacaville Christian High School I continue to focus on my growth on the court, in the classroom, and in my community. Academically, I challenge myself and have a history in excelling in that environment. I am confident that I will also excel in the collegiate environment as a student-athlete. I am looking to attend a school that can recognize me for both my volleyball and academic skills, and I believe that I am fully prepared to meet the challenge of playing at the next level.
