Personal Statement
I am going into my senior year at Manteno High School and for as long as I can remember I have wanted to play volleyball in college. Playing at the collegiate level would allow me to continue playing the game I love while receiving an education for my future career.
Volleyball has always been something I enjoy. I fell in love with the sport at a young age and began playing intramurals and club ball in third grade and haven’t stopped. I have been fortunate to be a part of successful high school and club teams, most recently as the setter for Impulse Volleyball Club. My goal for this coming high school season is to help lead our team to a conference championship and also to sectionals. Most recently I was the only setter for my Impulse 16U Elite club volleyball team. We comprised a record of 41-19 playing a very high level of competition. When I return to my high school team we run a 6-2 and I am called upon in addition to setting to be one of our primary hitters and blockers.
Volleyball has taught me to be a team player and always keep a positive attitude. I have managed to keep straight A’s through my freshman and sophomore years while also being involved in high school softball, FFA, Best Buddies, and Interact Club. Outside of school I am a member of the Manteno Best Pioneers 4-H club and show beef and dairy cattle with my family. I believe working on my family farm has given me great work ethic. I am currently planning on studying in the field of education to become a speech therapist or guidance counselor.
