Personal Statement
I am a TEAM PLAYER!!
I have been playing volleyball since I was in the 6th grade in both YMCA volleyball, middle school. high school, and select volleyball. I love to push myself to do better every time I set foot on the court. I love being challenged by my coach, team mates, and opponents. The past twelve months I have worked on my craft as a setter, but in club I have also been acting as a DS when needed. I'm very versatile and willing to take on any position the coach needs me to play.
While I am a student athlete I have not forgotten that I am a student first. Being a multitasker is very important to me. My classwork comes first because if I am not succeeding in the classroom then I know it can affect the time I have on the court playing the sport I love. I have taken AP classes since the 7th grade. I have been pushed to do my best and have always met that goal.
Being involved in my community is also important to me. I volunteer in my church in both the church choir, hand bells, and sang solos in the varies performances. I have traveled to different places helping to build homes for those who can't do it on there on with my youth group on varies mission trips. I have met several different people from all over the state of Texas and have formed friendships with them. I am musically inclined as well. I have been playing piano since I was 5 years old. I have been published in Texas Music Teachers Association several time. I have also been playing the flute since 6th grade. I played all through middle school and since I have not stayed with it in high school I do continue learning it by taking lessons in the summer with a personal instructor.
As you can tell I am a very rounded individual and want to find a school that I can continue my educational carrer. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the court. I would like to pursue a
university with an outstanding academic reputation and volleyball program.
