Jack Rector '20 Recruiting Profile

Moving from Arizona to Michigan prior to the start of my 8th grade year filled me with apprehension and fear at the thought of starting over; however, ended up as a positive defining moment in my life. I had spent my life developing strong bonds with my friends and teammates over the last 8-years. Now I had to start to develop those bonds all over. Baseball helped me to overcome my fears. Being able to fit in a new club ball situation and develop comradery and new bonds gave me strength and confidence. As I entered high school at one of the top high school baseball programs in the state of Michigan as a freshman, I found myself as a team leader and appointed captain that first year.

I have achieved many successes in my first two years of high school, both athletically in baseball and academically in the class room. My GPA has increased substantially from my freshman to sophomore year and I am a member of the academic Honor Roll.  When I am not studying or working to improve on the baseball field, I can be found fishing on one of the many lakes here in Michigan. I am not a person who stands still. My goal is to work to make myself continuously better in all I do. I want to follow in the footsteps of my older brother and sister who both played collegiate baseball and softball. I am looking for a college that will meet my academic goals with a baseball program that fosters teamwork and rewards hard work and results. I am positive with skills, work ethic and prior experiences that I would be an asset to your team.
