Being an athlete has been a huge part of my life.  Since I was able to walk, if a sport was being played, I was there.  Being raised in a small community and having to travel has helped me appreciate the opportunities given to me. I  have had the opportunity to compete nationally from the age of 6.  By the age of 12,  I realized baseball would be the sport of my primary focus, while still remaining a 3 sport athlete.  

Not always being on a winning team has taught me many valuable lessons.  I have learned how to deal with losing and disappointment maturely; how to be a more supportive teammate and player.  Early on, I decided I would have to put forth more effort for whatever team I was selected for.  I sought out the expertise of a hitting coach and personal trainer, while being supported by my family.  I have persevered; gaining ability, new skills, and knowledge by putting in the extra work.

Being a leader is characteristically being a team player; encouraging others even when it's hard.  As players, we rallied together to build our weaknesses from our strengths. I have learned to be humble, compassionate, selfless, and mentally resilient.  Being a leader is more than just encouraging words--it’s actions.  Your actions define your journey, which defines the player.  

Academics have always been important. Graduating from high school at the top of my class, attending college to obtain a degree and to play baseball is my ultimate goal.
