Evan Black '23 Recruiting Profile

Playing baseball has been part of my life ever since I can remember.  It was the perfect mix of being around other kids and also being able to make my own game.  The role of catcher appeared for me at the beginning and over the years I've honed my throw-down skills and being a central figure in the game.  Being in this leadership role came natural as I could see the game from a 360-degree  perspective.  Additionally, in school my teachers noticed that I had leadership qualities and used me to their advantage which wasn't a bad thing.  

Being an inspiration to others in the game is what I strive to be.  Maintaining that positive outlook knowing that until the game is over, it can go either way.  Always striving to work in unison and to be the best I can be is what I'm about.  

I'm constantly working on my catching, as well as my hitting abelites, which I've always exceeded at in both High School Varsity since which I've played since I was a freshman and very competitive travel ball since I was 8 years old.

My dad has been my biggest fan.  Without him supporting and encouraging me, my dreams wouldn't be in sight.  My athletic goal is to play in college at the highest level possible and beyond.  My academic goal is to earn a degree in Business Administration.
