Mason Ogawa '26 Recruiting Profile

My main goal since I was a little kid was to play college baseball. I’ve always wanted to represent the small town I'm from, Sanger. I hope that college opens up many opportunities for my future whether that’s in the work force, or professional baseball. What makes me a strong candidate for your team is my passion for baseball. I truly love the sport and the work that comes with it. There’s no denying that baseball is one of the most mentally challenging sports out there, but I love the challenge. I think this passion for the game really drives my work ethic. If I didn’t love the sport, I wouldn’t give it everything I have 7 days a week. My strong work ethic, my willingness to be coachable, and my leadership are some of the key factors that separate me from other recruits. As I take in new information from different coaches that ultimately expands my baseball knowledge, I try to implement it into my game every day. In the classroom, I always turn my work in even if it’s a game day. I know that academics are just as if not more important than baseball, so I take them very seriously. As far as my character goes, my competitiveness and empathy for others separate me from others. I have always had a competitive drive on and off the field. I also know that when someone is struggling on or off the field, it can be hard, so I try to be the best person I can to the people around me. Whether that’s being a good teammate and picking everyone up, or helping my friends and family I’m willing to do what it takes. Thank you for reading.
