Julian Thayer '20 Recruiting Profile

I was passionate for various sports at a very young age and baseball was the sport I chose to pursue. I began playing baseball at four years old and enjoyed watching Derek Jeter and the New York Yankees.  I admired the way Derek Jeter carried himself and played on the field and I tried to model myself after him.  Growing up in the Northeast you are limited to the amount of time playing and training on the diamond. Over the years I have worked extremely hard training year round at indoor facilities, outdoors and working with personal trainers to master my craft.

During my time in high school I have grown to be more of a leader on and off the field. I’ve had the privilege of being a part of a tremendous high school program the last couple of years playing with a great group of teammates.  I’ve learned the values of being a good teammate, hard work, and dedication over the years working together to achieve the same common goal.  At my high school we have to perform fifteen hours of community service. Completing these hours has made me a better person off the field and has helped me give back to the community.

I am looking for a school where I can further my education, while at the same time continue playing the sport that I love. I know I have what it takes to play at the next level, but most importantly be a remarkable student athlete.
