My dream ever since I can remember was to play baseball at the highest level possible, and play baseball for as long as my body lets me. My goal is to reach my maximum potential as a baseball player and a student at the same time. I make school just as important as I do baseball because I have a good understanding of the importance of an education and know that your playing days don’t last forever. I believe this quality gives me an edge over other baseball players since this makes me more than just a one-dimensional athlete.
My passion for baseball doesn’t just fall within the lines of liking the sport because I’m good at it. Baseball is a sport with subtle beauties that only the ones that truly love baseball can understand. The fact that you can be small and unathletic and still be the best player on the field is one of the things that makes baseball great. Anyone on any day can come along and take your spot if you take it for granted or let off the gas for a second. Baseball isn’t a sport where if you’re the most athletic you’ll be the best player, the hardest worker on the field will have the most success. Though this is one of the many beauties of baseball, the fact that my spot can be taken on any day puts a chip on my shoulder. This makes me work even harder for my spot, and not allow anyone around me to ever outwork me.
