Personal Statement
What makes me different from every other student-athlete is the big question. Being a student-athlete means having the ability to make priorities, stay focused, and balance the things that are important. My education will always be most valuable to me, as I have spent countless days and nights studying for my next test or final. I focus on keeping my grades as high as possible while understanding what I am learning. I am the type of student to ask descriptive questions that really allow me to understand all the aspects of what I'm being taught. I can take constructive criticism very well and I am a coachable player.
I have always tried to stay ahead of my competition, since 6th grade, I have been learning at a grade level higher in subjects of Math, English, and Science. While maintaining a 3.63 unweighted GPA, I am in 3 college classes AP English Language and Composition, AP Environmental Science, and DE World History. Next year as a senior I intend to have a full schedule consisting of college classes, I won't be having a reduced schedule because I intend to stay ahead. As a classmate I will always try to help my peers as much as possible, not only do I want to be successful, but I also want my peers to be successful as well. My parents raised me to be respectful to others and give them the help they need because not everyone is as fortunate as I am.
I have played in many USSSA tournaments along with Prospect Wire, Perfect game, GSA, Wilson Premier, etc. I’ve been competing on elite level teams since 12u. I pitched in the 2015 Dixie World Series championship while taking the win in South Carolina, along with having an undefeated record that entire season. Through High-school and summer ball I have had countless shut outs with some tournaments with an ERA of 0.00 and staying on each tournament’s leaderboard.
I love pitching as much as I love turning smooth double plays and roping doubles, as a utility player I must play each position with command and continue to be an all-round conditioned player.
As a player, I am looking forward to competing at the collegiate level. Please contact me for any further questions you may have.
