Personal Statement

Since I started playing the great game of baseball at a young age I have set a goal, and that was to play baseball at the collegiate level while getting a 4 year degree, putting the books 1st and baseball 2nd.
My collegiate goals and aspirations are to get my degree in either Civil Engineering or Sports Management (Athletic Trainer) and play baseball, the game I love, while pursuing my education. I'm what most coaches would call a utility player, middle infield being my primary positions because of my quick hands and feet, as well as being able to play anywhere in the outfield because of the speed I bring and the ability to read fly balls. I've always been a team player, whether that be picking someone up after a tough play or an at bat, or coming into a key situation that my team needs and getting the job done. I represent my team well on the field and off the field, whether helping teammates with school work or just being there to talk and listen to them, helping them through a tough time. I believe what sets me apart from others is my knowledge of the game, my will and desire to become as great as I can be in all assets, putting in 110% effort in everything I do in the classroom as well as the playing field. Coaches will not have to worry about me not being at any team event due to academics, because I get the job done in the class room and will maintain a high GPA. My motto has always been "Books before Ball, God above All". I would love to bring my knowledge, skills, love for the game, and desire to become as great as I can be and help the TEAM because it is about the TEAM not me.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • University of South Alabama
  • 11/06/16 to 11/06/16
  • Camp was well organized and administered. Every player had an opportunity to participate at any and all positions. I believe there were 100 players in attendance in which a player has a hard time to stand out or make an impact. That being said, Tripp had a typical day performing well in all areas.
  • Camp/Event
  • Georgia State College
  • 11/05/16 to 11/05/16
  • Showcase was well run by the staff of Georgia State College. I believe that there were a total of 32 players in attendance. Tripp performed well in all areas.
  • Camp/Event
  • ASU Baseball Camp
  • 8/13/16 to 8/14/16
  • Tripp had a good day, but could have been better on the skills day. 2nd day, game day, was excellent. Tripp played short and 2nd and made several good put outs. Tripp also pitched one inning facing 5 batters, giving up 1 hit, 1 strike out, and 2 fielding outs while giving up an unearned run on 3 fielding errors.
  • Camp/Event
  • UWF Summer Showcase
  • 6/04/16 to 6/04/16
  • Tripp had a great outing! 2nd showcase where he was able to showcase not only his infield skills, but also pitched and showed his position versatility by taking part in the outfield drills as well.
  • Camp/Event
  • Baseball Factory / Under Armor
  • 12/06/15 to 12/06/15
  • This was Tripp's first combine / showcase event. BF Representatives evaluated Tripp performance and provided verbal information (Dave Packer) about his skill set. Tripp received a 45-50 on a 70 point scale in the 4 areas evaluated. Tripp received an invite to attend either of their Florida or Utah events for 2016. A great experience and provided areas to continuously work on.
