Personal Statement
As far back as I can remember I have loved the game of baseball. I believe my passion for the game started when I was watching my older brother play the game. I started playing at the age of 3 in "WeeBall" and began catching at the age of 6. Although I can play other positions, catching is my passion and I work hard all year to keep improving. The part I love the most about catching is being in a position where I can see the entire game and be a leader on the field. I have always wanted to play ball at the college level and that is my goal. I know that I will have to continue to work hard on and off the field and I am prepared to do what it takes to reach my goal.
After being the starting catcher for my JV team in the 8th grade I was used as the back up catcher for Varsity, then permanantly moved up to Varsity at the end of my JV season . I was awarded the Defensive Player of the Year for my 8th grade year, and the Coach's Award for Determination, Hustle and Attitude, my 7th grade year.
I believe I will be an asset to any team because of my hard work, determination and passion for the game.
