Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Brandon Pelz and I am currently a Sophomore at Bartlett High School. I started my athletic journey at 4 years old playing t-ball with the local Little League. That is when I fell in love with baseball and being a competitor. In Little League I played up two levels staying competitive and improving myself. I began my travel baseball career at the age of 10.

I stand 6 feet tall and weigh about 165 pounds. I am a middle/top of the order hitter for Stars Baseball 2025. I throw 84 mph off the mound with a variety of pitches. I am currently playing Varsity for Bartlett High School as a Pitcher and Infielder.

I also play basketball and have since a young age. Similar to baseball, I was playing up two levels in the local recreational league, until moving to travel. I played basketball for Bartlet High School as a Freshman and was rostered on the Sophomore team as starter, playing guard or wing. I was one of eight players to play an eight-game schedule for the JV basketball team.

I am currently a member of the Buddy Program with Bartlett High School.

I am a devoted athlete and student, that works hard, putting in extra time on and off the field. I am a good student with a 3.8 weight GPA. I am a leader with a plus IQ on and off the court and field. I have a good understanding of what is necessary to achieve goals for my team and myself. I know what it means to be accountable, respectable, and driven. I am loyal to my coaches, team, and teammates. I am a trusted and counted on individual who loves high competition and delivering for my team.

I am a student athlete who is eager for the opportunity's that college has for me. I wish to continue my athletic career in college and stay in the sports arena with my studies pursuing a degree in sports medicine, sports management, and/or athletic training.

  • One of the day’s biggest winners on the mound was RHP Brandon Pelz (https://www.prepbaseballreport.com/profiles/IL/Brandon-Pelz-1695704283) (Bartlett). The 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-hander showed above-average feel for a three-pitch mix, starting with his fastball that sat 80-82 mph, topping out at 83 mph with life through the zone. He showed feel for both his breaking balls, with the first being a 11/5 curveball that flashed sharp action, 69-71 mph - and the second being a sharp 10/4 slider at 71-72 mph (T2316 RPM). His delivery is athletic, moving with a high leg-kick into a coiled balance point, drop/drive lower-half and striding in-line to the plate. H is arm is long and loose out of the glove and plays from a high ¾ slot.
