Iowa Showcase Personal Statement
I am extremely motivated to play baseball in college. I have been playing since I was 6 and always found myself drawn to the mound. I started formal pitching lessons when I was 11. I enjoy all aspects of pitching and have taken the mound as a starter, reliever and closer. I am working hard to increase my velocity by 4-5 mph by the end of my high school season. I've been told that I am a great teammate and that I am very coachable. I work hard to implement any advice that coaches may give me.
Academics are a priority to me. I am enrolled in all honor classes and so far I have maintained honor roll status throughout my freshman and sophomore year. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I like the Midwest region so I can stay close to family but I am open to all geographic locations. I am also open to all division levels and NAIA. I believe that I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.
