Alex Lowitt '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Alex Lowitt. I am a sophomore at The Rivers School in Weston, MA, where I am a student and an athlete. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and take honors math. I'm planning on taking AP Comp Sci and AP Calculus next year. I enjoy math and am starting to see how math and sports connect. I've been playing fantasy football since I was 9 when I won my first league competition against my mom's work friends. 

I'm not really comfortable talking about myself. Instead I will share what my coaches and baseball instructors have said about me as a person and player. They say that the more they watch me, the more they appreciate the little things I bring to a team and a game. Some coaches noticed that I set our defense and remember where the batter hit in previous ABs. Others mention that I'm at the fence first cheering when our team's at bat. As a pitcher, I've been told that I don't throw the fastest, but my 2-seamer and change-up move a lot which helps my 4-seamer look faster. At the plate, I won't swing at balls or first pitch strikes that are pitchers' pitches. 

My goal is to earn a starting spot for a great college baseball team by having a 3.5 or better GPA, getting to second regularly either by hit or walk, doing my job when I pitch, and directing our defense while making the plays you would expect a SS to make.
