I began skating when I was four years old and I began playing hockey when I was five years old. I started playing on a Mites team with mostly boys and have continued to play with and against boys every season though checking Bantam hockey. When I was seven years old, I added in a girls club hockey team and have continued to play on two teams per season ever since. I believe that playing on both girls teams, as well as predominantly boys teams have made me a better player than I would have been otherwise. I believe it also makes me tougher to play against. I am a multi-sport athlete who plays volleyball on my prep school varsity team as well as outside of school at the club level. I believe that playing other sports helps with my fitness level, my ability to read plays, and my time management skills, but hockey is where my passion lies.
I played with Assabet Valley for five seasons, Boston Junior Eagles for one season and my current club team is the Massachusetts Spitfires. In school, I play for The Rivers School varsity team in the ISL (Independent Schools League) where I have attended from grade six. My preferred position is to play defense. I like challenging and shutting down my opponents’ top offensive players. I also like looking for new ways to add more offensive play to my game, but I am often partnered with more offensive defensemen as I am a very reliable defensive player. I consider one of my strengths to be my good positional awareness.
