Leading a small group of sixth grade boys at my church Hosanna is probably one of my proudest moments of my life. It really allows me to give back to the amazing church that I have attended for more then 8 years. I feel like I grew as a student-athlete because during this time it showed me that all these young kids looked up to me as there leader. I remember the first time a couple of guys finally opened up to me after four weeks of me being there leader. This really made me believe that I have the qualities to be a role model in some peoples lives.
I was very lucky to have an amazing group of kids that didn't only allow me to be apart of there lives but also warmed up to me enough where I could let them into my life. I learned that commitment and leadership aren't only abilities that I can have when it comes to church but they are abilities that I process when playing baseball. I believe in myself not to only compete at the college level of baseball but I believe I have the leadership and commitment skills to impact your program in a positive way.
