Throughout my years in baseball I'd always get a sore arm and it prevented me from throwing. Each year it progressively got worse and worse. Until my junior year in high school, it got to the point where I lost range in motion and couldn't even throw the ball. During varsity try outs, my arm stopped in mid throw with an immense amount of pain rushing through my elbow. That's when I realized I needed to get it checked out. About two weeks later I was told by my surgeon I needed surgery, because I damaged my cartilage and bruised my elbow. Soon after that, I went back to the hospital for the procedure. If it wasn't for this injury, I would've played most of the year on the varsity team. Also, I knew this was my biggest year to get recruited, and it made me feel like my baseball career was over. Eventually our team went off to the state tournament and won it all. I didn't get to play a single game all year, because the surgery required a 4-5 month recovery. About 5 months after my surgery, I've been training 3-4 times a week to get my strength back. Now I'm able to throw harder than ever and 100% ready for my senior year of baseball.
I've been catching for 2 highly elite pitchers, Will Frisch and Drew Gilbert my entire life. They're both committed to Oregon state and both top out at 96. I even catch their bullpens every week. I am confident I have what it takes to catch for any elite pitcher. When I'm catching a 96 mph ball, I make it look easy. I have good leadership skills, and I ensure my pitchers can hit the spot that I want them to hit. I'm very vocal, and I make sure everyone is in place and stay on task. I want to take that leadership to your program and be successful.
