Jarrett Ballinger '23 Recruiting Profile

Growing up, while my friends were playing MLB the Show, I was at the University ball field watching PFP's and learning bunt coverages. My dad was a collegiate coach, and my youth was spent on long road trips, twilight double headers, and early morning fall practices. It was here that I observed great leadership of the collegiate players and learned the game from coaches who sit in the Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame. When I entered high school, and my evenings no longer ended at the University ballfield, I ensured my mornings started in the weight room. Every day, I am focused on returning to the collegiate field, this time as a player. I'm obsessed with the metal strain the game provides. Failure is inevitable, success is not. To be a decent ball player, you need to take a million reps. To be good, a million more. My goal is to be great, and thus my days are filled with rep after rep. I grew up as bat boy for a team rich in chemistry and passion for winning. As a player, I look forward to achieving the pinnacle of collegiate baseball with the same 'TEAM' mentality. My passion is rooted in years of desire to play at the collegiate level. Everything I do - spiritually, academically, and athletically, is to manitest my desire.
