Personal Statement

My name is Anthony Carrea from Midland Park, New Jersey and will be graduating high school in 2025. My goal is to continue my baseball career while gaining a college education. Baseball has always been a passion of mine. At an early age I began to excel and play competitively and at a high level on elite teams. As I entered high school I was given a starting position as a freshman which was a great honor. I work very hard at my craft and look forward to playing the sport I love through college. OVERALL PG GRADE: 7.5 Anthony Carrea is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Midland Park, NJ who attends Midland Park. Recorded a 7.67 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with a lean and athletic frame. Moved around with good actions, showcasing quality glovework with soft hands and a clean funnel. Showed solid arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter and starts with a wide base and a high back elbow and hands. Employs a toe tap timing trigger and keeps the hands inside the ball. Displayed some strength at impact and worked the middle of the field with line drives often. Secondary right-handed pitcher and begins delivery with a leg lift to waist level. Good tempo to operation and uses a compact arm action, releasing from a high-3/4 slot. Ran fastball up to 75 mph and showed some deception. Showcased advanced pitchability and mixed in 11-5 curveball and landed it with good depth. Great student.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Anthony is a 2025 SS/RHP out of Midland Park, NJ who continued to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American Rookie Showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays fluid/smooth actions. Feet are active as he moves well laterally and plays with a ton of energy. Glove action is clean and smooth. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and works through an aggressive swing path. Lower half works well through the swing, showing an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/07/2021 - Manalapan, NJ Anthony is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At SS, shows quick feet, with ability to play fast, and good body control at the baseball. He shows ability to cover ground and fields from an athletic fielding position with a good glove presentation. Has a loose arm and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a ability to get rid of ball. Made accurate/on-line throws, with momentum to target, and an arm velocity up to 71mph across diamond. On the mound, he has a repeatable delivery and is around the plate. He gathers over the rubber, with a good balance position, and separates his hands on time. He throws a FB that sits 66-69mph with good arm side run, a breaking ball with 10/4 shape, and a changeup with some run that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he starts with good balance and is a patient hitter. On-time stride, with smooth timing, and is centered at contact. He gets on-plane early and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He hit balls consistently into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.
