My name is Connor Detrick and I am a Class of 2025 scholar athlete from Bergen County, NJ.
What makes me a good candidate for any team is my work ethic in the classroom, at the baseball facility, and on the field. Whether it is school or baseball, I give 110%
Coming from a family who puts education first makes me realize how important my grades and a solid foundation are to my future. My mom is a teacher and has always taught me that listening in learning. I take school serious because I want to do good and college is important to me. My work ethic in the classroom is shown through my current GPA of 3.77/4.0. I am an honors student and currently taking AP classes. My AP class work will earn me enough credits to cover my freshman year of college credits, giving me the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree one year early.
My work ethic continues with baseball as I am at the facility 20-25 times per week training. Over the past year I have worked hard on my speed, which was my weakest attribute. I have been able to bring my 60 yard dash time down by almost a full second.
My weekly workouts consist of strength and agility training, developmental batting, development infield, pitching program, one on one hitting where I work by on technique, timing, and ball placement.
I know there are many athletes out there, like me, who want to play at the next level and I know that my future depends on my ability on the field and in the classroom. This is why I put in the work, to be the best me that I can. I want to play at the next level and hope that my work ethic in the classroom and on the field will catch the attention of the right school.
Thank you,
Connor J. Detrick
