Hello, my name is Daniel McLeod and I am a current student at South Plainfield High School, New Jersey. I will begin my junior year the fall of 2019. This is my second year on the school’s baseball team. I played for the freshman team freshman year and JV team sophomore year. I was born January 3, 2003 and have grown to be 6 feet tall, 2 inches and 255 pounds. I am a right handed player and this helps me utilize my abilities as a pitcher and first baseman. Sports have always been a part of my life, and at a very young age I knew baseball was going to be a part in my future. I have trained hard my entire life, from setting up a net and tee in my backyard to practice my batting performance to using my resources to find the best in my area to train with. I have always participated in travel and club teams and due to the tremendous amount of support I received from my parents, I am able to optimize my love for the game as well as my skills. My journey began at the young age of five and I pray it continues until I can no longer perform. For my future, I hope to bring my love and assets to a college team. College is for personal growth therefore I hope my growth comes from my love for the game and such as fast-paced setting. I aim to earn a degree, yet I have not narrowed this decision down. My enthusiasm and being a genuine team player set me up to achieve more when compared to my peers. I carry myself in an honest and respectful manner and this has helped me to develop mental and physical growth to enhance myself as a player. I strive to be an asset to the pitching rotation, infield, and as well as the batting lineup. As a representation of the team at all times, I hold myself to specific standards. My reflection of myself, the coach and my team means the world to me and I would never jeopardize this. I am beyond grateful to live the life I have and I owe this all to my parents. They understood my love for baseball at a young age and push me to try my best. They have always put me first and knew how important fulfilling my dream to play college baseball is to me. My dream has become our dream, and I hope to make them proud one day.
