Personal Statement

Personal Statement: My goal is to play baseball for as long as I can produce and be valuable to my team. I hope to play at the professional level one day too. After my baseball career, I see myself continuing in the sport in some capacity as either a coach, trainer, or possibly as a scout. I am seeking a college opportunity where I can immediately be utilized, developed, and improved to my best potential. Peter John

What others say:

  • "Peter has had the passion to play baseball since the early age of 4 years old. He was a successful middle infielder and pitcher until age 14 when he decided to dedicate his full time effort, and training as a middle infielder exclusively. This decision was primarily because he his strength as a SS and outstanding ability at the plate. Peter is a true gamer, he feeds off stress, when the stakes are high, and he was always the guy his coaches wanted in that clutch spot because he delivers. Peter motivates players by his demeanor, he leads by example, and doesn't get frazzled. He is always calculating and in control of his emotions and strategy. Peter has always played and competed at the top competition level locally on Long Island, NY, regionally, and nationally too. In fact, Peter made it through 3 of 4 cuts of the 18U Team USA Baseball team selection, ending in Cary, NC this past 2013 summer. Peter is a well-rounded player, tall lean frame, with a real good foundation of skills and a frame that can be built upon, and immediately utilized. He is truly a coaches player, in the sense that he will give the coaches, players and the game 100%, 100% of the time. He is respectful and confident and loves the game more than anything else. Every coach he has played for loved him and would recommend him to play at the highest level...
  • Coach Gary Krupsky (MLB NY & SF Giants afl.) LI Tigers said: "I wish I had 9 Peter's on the filed".
  • Coach Jon Welsh LI Tigers: "He is a gamer, effortless power on the field and at bat."
  • Coach Mike Burkhardt LI Breakers: "He's a great kid, love that kid, and very talented"
  • Coach Matt Salmon LI Titans: "Peter is a clutch player, a true gamer that makes it happen..."
  • Coach Sean Lynch Northport HS Tigers: "Peter is a great kid, and an outstanding ball player."
  • Coach DeMartini Northport HS Tigers: "Peter is a very dedicated player who love to play to game. He possesses a strong arm, a good bat, and is a person of high character.  He works very hard to be the best player he can be."
  • Personal Trainer, Jimmy Goelz, (MLB Dodgers, Indians, and Red Sox afl.): "He is deceptively powerful, very simple approach, no doubt, will be a dominant force at the plate" Re: SS - "Soft hands, good early read on the ball, real good range."
