Personal Statement
Going to college is a privilege that must be worked hard for. Going to college and playing a sport while there is an even higher honor that I value tremendously. I envision my college years to be academically and athletically challenging. I feel I have many attributes that would make me a strong collegiate student-athlete. I focus my attention on academic progress, individual strength and conditioning, targeted baseball skills, as well as leadership goals. Being a well-rounded, coachable athlete is a quality I strive for as I develop my skills toward the college level. I plan to play an active role on the baseball field and have a positive impact on others while attending school. I hold myself to the highest moral standard and know I will be representing my family and my school during this time.
Academically, I hold a solid mid 90's average. Currently, I am enrolled in several accelerated courses and am on track for a NYS Advanced Regents diploma. I am an independent worker and use my school time wisely in order to be able to dedicate more time to athletics and conditioning.
Aside from baseball, I have several athletic and extra-curricular interests. I am on the varsity hockey team as a forward. I also play varsity football as the team's quarterback. I pride myself in being a team player and leader by example. How I carry myself on and off the field is a strong indicator of my true character. I remind myself daily that I am a role model and example for many younger student-athletes. I also have an appreciation for art and music. I currently am taking an art design course in school where I have been able to hone my artistic skills. I love music of all genres and find music to be motivating in many ways.
At this time, I am open to all college baseball opportunities. My love of baseball and dedication to work hard and do whatever it takes to play college baseball is second to none. I look forward to this journey and the opportunity to be a college level student-athlete.
