Personal Statement

I have been playing baseball since I was four years old and knew from the moment that I hit that ball off the tee, I was hooked!  I have had the opportunity to play for a variety of amazing coaches over the past 13 years, competed with and against all levels of athletes, traveled near and far to amazing facilities throughout the Southeast. At times, I had to dig deep when my team was no longer in the lead and I enjoyed big wins in many nail biting tournaments.  Experiences of winning and losing is what playing sports all about and it has taught me what I am capable of.  I learned to adjust and work hard for a sport I love to play - for myself, my coaches, my teammates and my family!

My Current Baseball Teams:

·         Corinth Holders High School – Varsity Team – MIF - #12

·         Canes Central Showcase 17U – Club Team – 3B/Catcher - #8

I have always been a versatile player, playing multiple positions for a team, which has given me the knowledge and appreciation for each player/position on the ball field.  I have been focusing on several infield positions (Catcher, 3B and SS) were my strength and agility can be valuable to my team and coach.  Playing defensively, strategically and cohesively throughout a game is important but if you want to win you have to get on base.  This past year I have been working on increasing my overall strength and bat velocity. It's been paying off  ! I've gotten some big hits and a lot of RBIs.

Because baseball is my passion, I am also aware that a good education is the key to my future. I would like to find a college that has an excelling baseball program but offer studies that peak my interest. Getting a degree in business, environmental science or engineering are at the top of my list.  I am also open to other opportunities and additional careers that might be a good fit with my personality and hobbies (fishing and duck hunting). Who knows, maybe I will find a career in Wildlife Management !

For me,  baseball is more than a game.  I am looking forward to the opportunity to compete and play baseball at the next level for a coach and a team that loves baseball just as much as I do.  I look forward to learning more about your baseball program, campus and upcoming camps.
