Personal Statement

I love the game and I've had to earn everything I've been able to accomplish.  Whether in school or sports, hard work is something that I'll never be afraid of.  Early on in school I had to work through a learning disability.  With a lot of hard work and support from my family and school, I was able to manage my disability to where I'm now a consistent honors awardee.  For baseball, I've always competed at a high-level, but was never the most gifted.  So, I was forced to work harder than those that were.  Extra reps in the cage, on the field, in the gym, training, etc., all things I've never shied away from as they were necessary.  I'll never forget a tournament t-shirt my Dad bought me when we were playing in the Ripken Experience in Tennessee.  It said, "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."  That quote has stuck with me until this day.  As I've gotten older, that quote becomes more and more relevant.  A lot of players get to a point because their talent got them there...they've never had to work hard...they've never had to earn it.  I guarantee you that won't be me because it's never been me.

Any team that is interested in me will get that same work ethic on and off the field...between the lines and in the classroom.  You'll get a player who respects the game of baseball and respects the ones that came before.  Who respects his coaches and is teammates.   Most of all, you'll get a player who will never forget that he's playing a game and hopes to play that game for as long as he can.  Who hopes that the road baseball takes him on will lead to an education.  Baseball will only take me so far...an education will last a lifetime.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
