~~COLLEGIATE GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS
Every person at one moment in their lives have set collegiate goals and aspiration, as a way to either improve their economic situation, obtain and academic degree, set an example for others or prove to themselves that no goal is impossible to reach. With this in mind, even though success guaranteed, it does allow you the opportunity to construct your own future and accomplishments.
My collegiate goal is to follow in my brother and father foot steps by obtaining a degree in the healthcare profession. My brother is currently in the process of applying to medicine school and my father is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and also holds a Masters degree as a Health Service Administrator. The knowledge and preparation that I can obtain from the collegiate experience will help me become the healthcare professional I want to be, one who is dedicated, is empathetic towards his patients needs, provides quality service to his community and at the same time prepare me to be that person who can be looked at as an example of professional and personal growth.
My immediate aspiration is to graduate with a Nursing degree which would allow me to pursue a degree in Anesthesia. It’s a challenging profession but also rewarding when you can be part of the patients well being process. I not only want to work in an operating room, I would also like to be an educator and specialize in other areas of my profession.
As for athletics, my goal and aspiration is to be part of a collegiate team in which my baseball skills and ability can part of the team success and at the same time be proud of the university I represent. Even though not all ball players are drafted and/or reach the major leagues, my goal is to reach a level of performance in which I can be considered for both.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THEIR TEAM
I consider myself a ball player who rises to the occasion under pressure moments. My hitting skills are exceptional, I possess good hand eye coordination, excellent contact hitter with occasional power, able to hit to all fields, low strike out rate, high base on ball rate, good speed for my position. As for my fielding, I have an excellent glove at first base with minimum errors made, I consider myself to have a high IQ for game situations which allows me to at time anticipate plays and prepare accordingly. Given these skills and abilities mentioned, I consider a good candidate that will help any team in it’s performance on the field.
WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER RECRUITS IN CHARACTER, ATHLETICS AND ACADEMICS
Having been through many difficult situations in my life, I feel that I am more appreciative of the opportunities given. I’m a mature, respectful, humble and dedicated individual that can adapt to any type of environment and get along with people from different cultures.
As for athletics, as mentioned previously I consider myself a ball player with a high IQ for the game, exceptional offensive and defensive skills and abilities, respect and dedication for the game and the most important quality…HEART. Many play the game, few have the passion and heart to play it the way it should be. No matter the outcome of the game my full effort and attention will be given while playing.
Finally Academics, I’m aware that my academic profile may not be eye catching, but over the last two years my academic performance has improved dramatically. Even though this may not attract many I do possess the potential to exceed and have demonstrated it in my first semester of college with a 3.20 GPA and currently I expect to have similar or better grades this semester. I have set my academic goals high enough in which my full attention and dedication is required in order to succeed, and I have no doubt that I will meet and exceed all expectations and will obtain the degree I’m working towards.
