I started off my high school career going to Paschal High school. My freshman year I played football and baseball. Our baseball team was very successful and won the district championship. My main positions were Shortstop or Second Base. That summer and fall, I got an opportunity to play 18u baseball with the Texas Stix. When I was around higher competition with athletes who liked to work hard and strived to play better, I worked harder, played better, and realized that I wanted to play college baseball.
As I started my sophomore year, I was not enjoying the non-Christ based program at Paschal. After my first semester, I transferred to Southwest Christian School. They have a distinctively Christian environment that I have really enjoyed. This school is also better preparing me academically for college. Now that I am not at a 6A school, I have the opportunity to play baseball and football. It’s been a different baseball experience because the coaches have played me at every position on the field. I have learned that being a more versatile player will help me out in the long run. I know that because I have been at a Christian-based school, with Christian coaches, it is making me a better man and even a better baseball player.
