Gilbert Mata '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Gilbert Mata Jr. and I am an incoming Sophomore in McAllen, Texas. My goal is to play with elite competition as I gain more experience in the game that I love. I work hard everyday to achieve this goal; early mornings and evenings at least five days a week. I have been playing baseball since the young age of four when I started tee ball, and since then have participated year-round in traveling teams where we won championships all across the country. I have had personal trainers teach me skills that have set me apart from others and helped me achieve all that I have. I have played almost every position on the field and excelled wherever I am placed whether it be 2nd base, shortstop, 3rd base, or pitcher. I am very hard-working and dedicated to this sport and will do anything to advance my skills. I would love the opportunity for college coaches to view my profile and skills and maybe even come see me play live. Hopefully my dream of playing at the collegiate level becomes a reality, so I can advance myself even more and play in the Major League. Thank you for your time and consideration.
