My name is Cameron Byers, and I have been playing on various baseball teams since machine pitch as a young child. Being a part of different baseball teams has been a valuable asset to my development, as I have learned to be part of a team, whose success depends on the collaboration of the team in its entirety. Baseball has not been simply a game to play throughout my lifetime, but a character building tool, as working closely as a team, celebrating successes, and learning from failures has helped me become a more well-rounded person within the classroom and community. I am not afraid to try or take risks, especially when I know my coaches will work with me to improve skills on and off the field. I pride myself for being coachable, as I have been able to take criticisms from coaches and learn from mistakes. Working closely with wrestling and baseball coaches has helped afford me the opportunities to attend and place in competitions at the state level. Upon graduating from high school, my future plans include playing baseball at the collegiate level while pursuing an engineering degree. I know that I will be able to maintain the required grades to participate in sports at that level, and I am determined to succeed personally and professionally. I look forward to incorporating the game of baseball into life, using the problem-solving and people skills I have learned to adjust into the adult world.
