My mom always tells me, “You only have one reputation, don’t ruin it.” This is a motto that I remind myself of all the time. I want my reputation to be about working hard and doing my best.
Hello, my name is Ryan Litchford. I am currently a junior at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia. I have played baseball since I was three years old. My oldest brother was a baseball player and I have watched him play my whole life. I would like to play baseball in college and possibly on to the next level.
I am a left-handed pitcher that bats both left and right handed. I am also an accomplished first-baseman and outfielder As a player, I have played on little league, B-team in middle school, and JV as an 8th grader. (Although that season was cut short due to Covid.) As a freshman I played on the varsity team for my high school. I have played on various travel teams to give me more opportunities to play and improve my skills. I was selected to the All Tournament team as a pitcher at the 2021 Coastal Fall Invitational for Perfect Game.
Along with these accomplishments, I always strive to do my best. I put in the work on and off the field. I will come early and stay late to practice my swings and throws. I will help others, especially those younger than me or new to the game. I am a good leader and support to my team. When they start to get down I remind them that all they can do is their best and leave it on the field. I also play the game in my head and am ready. I can think two plays ahead and be ready when the action comes in my direction.
I am not just looking at m y reputation on the field. In the classroom, I strive to carry a positive attitude and reputation. I work hard and help others in my classes. I am an A and B student. Not all classes are enjoyable or easy for me. I work my hardest to do the best that I am capable of no matter the content. Sometimes, my best isn't an A though. I’m okay with that as long as I know that I did my best. I will seek out help when it is necessary. I will also help others when they are in need. In college I would like to study architecture. I am interested in designing buildings and improving neighborhoods.
In all that I do, I strive to do my best. I want my reputation to be one of positivity and helpfulness and doing my best.
