  • Ben Adams is a 2022 C/RHP with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Virginia Beach, VA who attends Frank W. Cox. Medium frame with an athletic build. Primary catcher with a low, balanced set while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with sound footwork. Released from a compact arm slot generating some on line carry to the bag, Topped at 72 mph, best workout pop time of 2.02. Right handed hitter with a balanced, open stance. High leg lift trigger and moved into contact well with lower half. Employed a compact hand path to baseball and flashed good jump off the barrel when squared. Primarily looked to work the ball to the middle of the field. Also pitched utilizing a short, quick delivery. Clean arm action at released that produced solid arm side run with a fastball that topped at 81 mph. Consistently challenged hitters with fastball showing the ability to locate to each edge of the plate. Slider displayed good sweep to glove side in the upper 60's. Also flashed a straight changeup in the low 70's.

  • Adams is 5-9 with an athletic frame that has strength present in the lower half and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing with some strength at contact and extension through the ball, showed a good approach working gap to gap, with some extra base power present, exit velocity was 85. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 72 and pop times 1.98-2.06. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Receiving, he gets low and works up to the ball, presenting a decent strike in front. Ran a 7.55 60 yard dash
