I want to play baseball in college for many reasons. I love the sport, and I think it would be a tremendous experience to learn from and be surrounded by people that know baseball and know what it takes to be successful. I want to work with coaches who are committed to their players and want to help them improve their skills, because in turn I will be committed to giving my team everything I have both physically and mentally. I would like to hone my skills even more, because the better I am, the better my team does. I want the team to be able to count on me when I'm on the mound. I want to be a player that contributes to the team defensively, and as a leader.
When you play in college you?re around other quality baseball players who are trying their hardest, and it forces you to step up and try even harder to get yourself to the next level. No matter how good you are in your position in any sport, you can always learn more. And what you learn is not just playing skills, but also leadership, and how to be the best individual you can be, while also being a good teammate. Great players have top physical skills, but also a positive attitude and good sportsmanship.
The most important thing of all however, is getting my college degree. I don?t know where my baseball career is headed, but I do know one thing for sure: a college degree multiplies my chances of succeeding in the future. I look forward to being a good student athlete.
