Hi! My name is Lana Budrewicz. I am a sophomore at Litchfield High School in Litchfield, CT. I've been playing field hockey since seventh grade. I play on the forward line but dabble in midfield. I was a middle school captain and then moved up to high school and made varsity in my freshman year. In my sophomore season, I scored the most goals on the team (JV + Varsity combined), won the prestigious Ted Alex Sportsmanship award, and was regarded by my teammates and coaches as a valuable asset. Going to a very small school with not a large focus on field hockey, I enjoy practicing on my own after school year-round, and play at FHCC. There's never a moment where field hockey isn't on my mind. I'm always training and always working hard, and I don't see that stopping in the future. I fell in love with the sport as soon as I stepped on the pitch, and playing in college has always been my goal. I hope to major in Secondary English Education, a career I've wanted since I was three. I have an above 3.8 GPA, consistent honor roll placement, am a member of the National Honor Society, I am the Class of 2026 Historian, and I have won the Superintendent's Leadership Award two times consecutively. I actively participate in theater, photography, and volunteer work as well. However, my character is what I pride myself most on. I love uplifting other people and I am always willing to help, to lead, and to encourage. I find joy in making other people smile, and I have been told by my teammates and opposing teams that my sportsmanship is remarkable. I want to continue my spirit at the college level, and I hope that you consider me to be a part of your team in the future!
