Love at first sight– That’s what I experienced when I first attended an open house for field hockey during the summer before 8th grade. I first moved to Missouri from Seattle that same summer, and field hockey was the one thing that kept me together through all the different adjustments I had to make. I pursued my field hockey career like a madman from there, joining Gateway Field hockey, going to as many tournaments as I could possibly do.
Though my field hockey passion is strong, I also value my academic work seriously, and pursue the highest excellence in my grades. I’ve been a straight A student for quite a while, and I’m taking as many honors and AP classes as possible.
I try to balance my life out as well, and whenever my field hockey season isn’t too busy, I try to run and play ultimate frisbee, another hobby I’m passionate about, and keep myself in shape. I still stay involved with field hockey though by volunteering during Sundays to coach field hockey to elementary kids through my club.
My goal is to continue this passion I have for this sport through college. I want to play at the highest level possible while I study for my dream job as a Primary care sports medicine physician. I want to be able to help others with the same dedication and fascination I have to field hockey with my patients’ choices of sports, and I think being able to take field hockey with me for as long as possible will help me achieve my dream.
